Luminate is a Christmas light trail at Sandringham estate in Norfolk. After dark, illuminations light up the trees as you walk along the path. I went recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. The lights looked fantastic.
It took about an hour or so to walk along the trail, which went through a wooded area of the estate. The trail was along pathways, so I could easily drive around it. Although there was a bit of mud and probably some leaves or other stuff on the path that got my wheels.
Halfway through, they had some stalls selling hot chocolate and giant marshmallows, which we could waste on an open fire pit. This was great, and luckily, my marshmallows didn’t catch fire. I did see a few marshmallow fireballs from other people, though.
The lights ranged from lasers, spotlights, twinkling lights in different colours, and even glitter balls shining lots of light throughout the forest.
Music was also playing in different areas, which added to the atmosphere of it.
At one point, they had a wooden frame behind which you could have a photo. I drove behind it, but then my chair got stuck on the base of it, and it took a while to get it free. My mum and carer couldn’t move it so a friendly man who was passing came and helped and finally, I was free!
There was also a Christmas tree maze on site, but we didn’t go around it as we had to get back home. But it did look good with all the trees lit up in twinkling lights.
Here are some photos from the event.
